You can post a treatment-planned procedure as complete in a patient's clinical chart. Also, from the patient's clinical chart, you can post a procedure that is attached to an appointment scheduled for today.
Note: Completed procedures appear in the clinical record and financial record. Posting or editing a completed procedure in either of these areas affects the other area.
To complete treatment
How to get there
Use the Patient Search box to access a patient's record.
Notes:
If the last patient record you accessed since you last logged on is the correct patient's record, you do not need to re-enter the patient's name in the Patient Search box.
You can include inactive patients in the search results by setting the Include inactive patients switch to On.
On the Patient menu, under Clinical, click (or tap) Progress Notes.
The patient's clinical record opens with the Progress Notes tab selected.
Use any of the following methods:
On the Progress Notes tab of a patient's clinical record, the procedures scheduled for today appear, or if the patient does not have an appointment today, the procedure history for the patient appears. Do one of the following:
For a procedure scheduled for today - With the Scheduled for today filter selected, click (or tap) Post for a procedure that you want to post to the Ledger.
After you click (or tap) Post, if the procedure requires that treatment areas (such as, a tooth number and surfaces) be entered, a dialogue box appears so that you can enter the correct treatment areas.
Note: A typical method of posting a patient's scheduled procedures is to complete the corresponding appointment.
For a treatment-planned procedure - With the All or Th filter selected, and the Tx Plan status selected, click (or tap) Complete next to a procedure that you want to complete and post to the Ledger.
After you click (or tap) Complete, if the procedure has linked conditions (diagnoses), a dialogue box appears so that you can select which, if any, of those conditions you want to mark as Treated.
From the routing panel, you can complete a treatment-planned procedure that is attached to an appointment with a Checkout or Complete status. Next to the treatment-planned procedure that has been performed, click (or tap) Complete.
Note: You can mark the associated conditions as Treated now or at a later time.
