You can delete a completed, planned, or existing treatment from a patient's clinical chart or a completed procedure from a patient's ledger. However, you cannot delete a completed procedure under the following circumstances:
The procedure is locked because it was completed more than a specified number of days ago (according to a certain ledger option).
A patient or a third party payment has been posted for the procedure. If you delete the payment or remove the charges that are applied to the procedure, you can then delete the procedure.
The procedure is attached to an invoice. If you cancel the invoice, you can then delete the procedure.
The procedure is attached to a third-party claim. If you delete the claim, you can then delete the procedure.
The procedure is associated with an active payment plan. If you delete the payment plan, you can then delete the procedure.
Note: If you cannot delete a procedure, you can void it, re-post it correctly, and then post an offsetting adjustment if needed.
