You can edit the options of a recall type (except for the name of the type if the type is attached to any patient's record) as needed. Changing a recall type that is attached to any patient's record does not affect the recall of any patients who already have that recall type attached to their records.
To edit a recall type
How to get there
On the Settings menu, under Patient Care, click (or tap) Recall.
The Recall Setup page opens.
On the Recall Setup page, select a recall type.
Note: Primary recall types are bold for quick identification.
The options for editing the recall type become available.
If the type is not attached to any patient's record, change a name for the recall type. Set up the other options, such as the interval and associated procedures, as needed.
Set up the following options:
recall type is attached to any patient's record.
You cannot change the name if thisDescription - Enter a description for the recall type.
Interval - Enter a number, and select Weeks, Months, or Years to specify how often a patient with this recall type attached to his or her record should be seen for this type of recall.
Each time you schedule a recall appointment for a patient, the due date for the patient's next recall appointment (of the same recall type) advances by the specified interval.
Primary Recall Type - If an appointment is typically scheduled around this recall type (for example, a cleaning), select this check box. If the procedures that you associate with this recall type are typically additional services that accompany a primary type (for example, X-rays), clear this check box.
Notes:
Only primary recall types can trigger automated text and email messages for recall reminders.
Only primary recall types are available for use with online booking.
When you are completing appointments, the scheduling of recall is required only for primary recall types. This appointment task is required only for locations that have been set up to track compliance with the patient checkout workflow.
To remove a procedure, click (or tap) the Remove buttonnext to that procedure.
If you associate a procedure with this recall type, when you complete an appointment for the specified procedure, and if the recall type is not already attached to the record of the patient for whom the appointment was scheduled, a message will appear and allow you to choose whether or not you want to attach recall to the patient's record.
Click (or tap) Save.
