Overview
Units of Dental Activity or UDAs (also referred to as weighted courses of treatment) were introduced by the NHS from April 2006 to establish a common currency that can be used to relate investment to the level of service provided.
The basis of the system is that a contractor will provide a set number of UDAs in return for set monthly payments.
The UDA Tracker displays a graphical representation of past, present and predicted performance against targets so that you can predict how many UDAs your practice will have generated at the end of the contract period.
Using the UDA Tracker:
Click the drop-down arrow next to your Home tab, and under NHS select the UDA Tracker tab
When first opening the UDA tracker page it will automatically pick the first contract in the list
- To change the contract (Eg: if you have multiple contracts setup), click on the Contract field drop-down menu and select another contract from the list
You can then click on the contract name and change the quota and price per UDA as required
If no providers have been assigned to a contract, you will receive a notification to add a provider/(s) to this contract
Adding a Provider to a Contract:
- Click on the Provider drop-down and select a provider
- Click the edit button on the right-hand side of the contract (or click on the name itself)
A popup box will appear with the following fields that you can fill:
- The quota number for this contract
- The number of hours the provider works per week
- Hours off for this provider (for sick leave or scheduled leave)
Don't forget to click Save Changes to save your updates
Adding Provider Leave Hours:
To add leave or hours not worked (Eg: When a provider is sick or has scheduled annual leave):
- Click the Select Week drop-down and choose the relevant week
- Add up the total number of hours off for the week
- Click the Add Leave button
- You can add additional hours off for another week if required
Click Save Changes when you have completed your updates
UDA Tracking & Analysis:
Now that a provider has been linked to a contract, when selecting the provider in the drop-down menu the UDA statistics per week will be displayed. This includes the following:
- Leave (hours off)
- Ready (claims that are ready to be sent)
- Sent (claims that have been sent)
- Paid (claims that have been paid)
- Amount (amount of UDA for a claim)
When you toggle to the UDA Tracking View, you can see which providers have been assigned to this contract and how they are tracking with their UDAs
There are three hyperlinks on the left hand side for quick access to the Incomplete, Discrepancy, and Error claims. These take you through to Claims central with the filter pre-selected
Note: If you are viewing tracking details for a specific provider, this provider will already be selected within claims central
