The product update, released 13th November 2019, includes new features, and enhancements to existing features. New functionality in Ascend includes an online version of the FP17PR form, which can be filled in from the patient's portal. The exemption data from the form automatically updates the claim details it is attached to. You can also accept discrepant claims by using the new 'Accept Discrepancy' status. This will update the UDA value for a claim to the amount the NHS have returned.
NHS FP17PR Form
You can now generate the NHS FP17PR form directly from Dentrix Ascend!
This form, now available in 'Patient Forms' can be sent to the patient's portal, where the patient can fill this in at their leisure prior to their appointment, or within the practice.
The important ethnicity and exemption data will automatically be added to the claim once the FP17PR form has been attached to it. The form will also be stored in the document manager for the patient, easily accessible if you need to check the form details.
Claims Central
Accepted Discrepancy - New Claim Status
A new status has been added to Claims Central. When the NHS returns a different UDA value and/or patient charge, changing the status to Discrepancy, you can now mark that claim as Accepted Discrepancy.
The claim data will automatically update the UDA value, and an alert will show you the NHS patient charge amount, which you can use to reconcile the patient's ledger.
The UDA tracker will automatically update with the UDA values returned by the NHS
Select All Button
A small, but noteworthy, update to claims central includes a Select All button on the left-hand side. You can tick this to select all claims on that page. This will make sending ready claims a breeze!
Hint: If you've accumulated more than 10 Ready claims that you want to bulk send, you can increase the number of claims shown in Claims Central, to ensure you can Select All and send in one go!
Don't forget, you can also add filters, and then Select All (e.g. Status: Ready, Performer: Katherine Longley)
